For the first time, ”Nicolae Testemitanu” University participated in the European Association for International Education conference

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova, together with three other universities of our country, participated, for the first time, in the International Conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), the 35th edition, which took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, between September 9-12, 2025. 

The universities of our country presented themselves under the Romanian stand (Study in Romania), organized by the National Council of Rectors of Romania (President ​​Sorin Cimpeanu, present at the event) in collaboration with the Council of Rectors of the Republic of Moldova (President Emil Ceban). The initiative belongs to the National ERASMUS+ Office in Moldova and demonstrates the joint commitment to the integration of higher education in the European space.

The representative of the University, Evelina Gherghelegiu, Head of the Department of External Relations and European Integration (DEREI), mentioned that the current edition of the conference was held under the "GO-Create" theme and aimed to expand inter-institutional collaborations, to respond to the challenges of the international education system and provide quality studies. "Through such practices, we can build a common vision for the internationalization of higher education, based on partnerships, exchange of ideas and sustainable development", the Head of DEREI emphasized.

In total, the EAIE conference brought together more than 7000 participants from all over the world, and the joint Romania – Republic of Moldova stand, with 37 higher education institutions from Romania and 4 universities from the Republic of Moldova, was one of the most visible, attractive and lively of the 106 stands. An educational fair was also organized as part of the event, where higher education institutions presented their educational offers. 35 European university alliances also attended the event.

The EAIE conference annually brings together thousands of participants from over 80 countries, representing universities, government agencies, international organizations and companies in the education field.
